Just For You's mission is to help "ladies going through a difficult
time in their lives."
Owner Debbie Hatfield knows just what that is like.
Debbie
was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 44. While the reality
of her illness was hard to accept, she did take comfort not only in
the support of her family and friends, but also from knowing that
she is not alone in her battle.
As a result of her journey and the many people she met along the
way, she decided to open her own business, Just for You, in November
2002. Her product line includes wigs and mastectomy products. Her
store is the result of her determination to help others facing the
same challenges she faced.
Just For You carries a large selection of wigs that can help ladies
suffering from hair loss as a result of chemotherapy treatments or
other medical reasons. If a customer needs a wig as a result of a
medical condition, Just For You offers the customer a 50 percent discount.
Just For You also carries mastectomy products. With some of the newest
products on the market, ladies are able to feel comfortable after
having a mastectomy. Just For You also sells bras for full-figured
ladies who are having problems finding a bra that fits comfortably.
Medicare, Missouri Medicaid and most insurance companies will pay
for prosthesis and mastectomy bras. Just For You is also happy to
process insurance claims.
Debbie found the SBDC while she was a student at Missouri Southern
State College enrolled in a class taught by Karen Bradshaw, and SBDC
consultant. Little did she realize that two years later she would
be talking to Karen about starting her own business.
"Karen has been instrumental in helping me find resources about
licensing and vendor information including addresses and phone numbers.
She has also assisted me with my marketing efforts by helping me to
develop a professional looking brochure. I am very thankful to have
the resources of the Small Business Development Center to help me
with so many aspects of my business."
